Founded in 1947, Rathmore Golf Club is one of the oldest in Portrush and official home to world renowned golfer Graeme McDowell. The interior of the gentlemen's locker room was largely original, with its handmade wooden lockers in dire need of an overhaul. The aim was to grant it an air of old school club house sophistication, to make it feel stately and established. The bathroom also needed to be completely gutted and was redesigned to give a similarly traditional feel.
The result is a locker room that oozes glamour, respecting the history of this club whilst tailoring it for future generations of golfers.

The banks of original lockers were completely refurbished and dressed with solid brass fittings. New benches were designed with solid mahogany tops and incorporate handy shoe racks underneath.
The original locker room suffered from a lack of lighting. The ceilings were replastered and designed to incorporate LED strip lights around the locker bays - not only providing illumination but also setting off the now pristine locker fronts in style.
Simple wood panelling was used to dress the walls - painting it a storm blue shade helped to tone down the rich redness of the mahogany. This shade was further accentuated in the carpet.
The original locker room had a mixture of notice boards added over the years. The new panelling created the perfect base for the insertion of large cork panels, soon to be covered with club rules and information on forthcoming golf competitions!
This stylish new washroom continued the old school theme, with two shades of textured metro tiles and wood plank effect flooring. A purpose built vanity unit houses a trio of trough sinks and was set off by a full width mirror.
Modern but traditionally styled radiators throughout provided the finishing touch to this classic interior.
