A Sea (coloured sofa) of Calm
Every home needs a comfy sofa. And you can't improve on the classic styling of a Chesterfield. This blue and sunshine yellow combo is stylish and inviting and sets the tone beautifully for this home with an ocean view over fields of gorse.
Chic cottage comforts
The brief for this home was that it should have a true Irish flavour, reflecting its coastal/countryside location and retaining its cottagey vibe. Rustic oak floors were refinished, cosy tweed roman blinds and piles of textured cushions and throws were added to give warmth to the neutral background tones.
A place to eat, to read, to dream
The open plan layout of this room posed a problem; it was choc-full of chairs. So by creating a comfortable and practical built in corner seat with pull out storage, topped with wool seat pads and loaded with scatter cushions, we solved the problem in style. A stunning mango wood table and bench and a large enamelled pendant light in duck egg tones complete the look.
Bay-side bathing
We were given two requirements for this bathroom - a deep bath for soaking, and nautical styling. Textured and white-washed wood boards were applied to the walls, complimented by wall lights and distressed mirror. White wood-effect tiles provide a stylish and practical solution for the floor.
Bed knobs and blankets
The brief to create a cottagey vibe is further fulfilled in the master suite. An otherwise minimal colour palette contrasts with the stunning florals on the bedhead wall. The woodwork in this home had been an orangey pine. Once overpainted in soft grey tones the detail of doors and architraves can be fully appreciated.
Ship-shape and Bristol Fashion
The stunning wallpaper was the starting point for this guest room. Keeping the furniture and lamps in neutral cream tones allows the wallpaper to have the starring role.
Summer Dreamin'
This cute and cosy twin room was given a fun vibe with a feature wallpaper backdrop to plain white iron bedsteads. Simple striped wool throws set off the sunshine yellow scatter cushions, further accented in the reading light.
